Monthly Checklist
Air Conditioning and Heating
- Check air filters and clean or replace as necessary.
- Vacuum air supply and air return registers to remove dust and lint.
Fire Extinguishers
- Check fire extinguishers to ensure that they are fully charged.
Garbage Disposal
- Clean disposal blades by grinding up ice cubes. Freshen it with baking soda and by grinding up citrus fruit rinds.
Interior Caulking
- Check for cracks or separations in caulking around sinks, bathtubs, toilets, ceramic tops and backsplashes, ceramic walls, resilient and ceramic floors, windowsills, and any other areas as needed.
Pests
- Check inside and outside for signs of ants, termites, & wasps.
- Check plants for bugs & fungus.
- Observe lawn for signs of grubs & other pests.
Pool
- Check & clean filters.
- Check quality of pool water (bi-monthly).
Range Hood Fan
- Clean or replace dirty filter.
Smoke Detector
- Test smoke detectors.
- Clean and/or vacuum detector openings as necessary.
Septic Tank (where applicable)
- Test smoke detectors.
- Clean septic tank by flushing yeast or other cleaning solution through the commode following manufacturer’s instructions.
Sprinklers
- Check sprinkler heads and adjust or replace as needed.
